How to Register as a New Patient

What to Expect at Your First Visit

Comprehensive Exam
Your first appointment typically includes a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth, along with digital X-rays to give us a complete picture of your oral health.

Health History Review
We'll review your medical and dental history to understand any conditions, medications, or concerns that may affect your care.

Personalized Treatment Plan
Based on your exam, we'll discuss your oral health and any recommended treatments, answering all your questions along the way.

Professional Cleaning
In many cases, your first visit will also include a professional cleaning to remove plaque and tartar buildup.

Parking
Onsite parking is available at our downtown Nanaimo location at 105 Richards St. We have ample parking to make your visit as convenient as possible.
Accessibility
Our clinic is designed to be accessible to all patients. We have wheelchair ramps, spacious restrooms, and wide doorways to ensure everyone can navigate our facility comfortably.
Saturday Appointments
We know weekday appointments aren't always possible. Saturday appointments are now available — ask our team when you register.
Insurance & Payment
We accept all major insurance plans and offer a variety of payment options to make dental care more affordable. As there are many dental insurance companies and plans across Canada, each with different fee guides, limitations, deductibles, and percentages of fees covered, we ask that you know and understand your coverage and limitations as it is your responsibility as an informed patient. Our knowledgeable staff will do their best to assist with insurance claims and provide detailed cost estimates.
Cancellations & Reminders
We utilise an automated reminder system to send notifications via email and text — or by phone if that is your preference. These reminders typically go out a few days before your appointment and include options for confirmation or rescheduling.
Please provide at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations to avoid a cancellation fee. As a busy practice, no-shows mean that other patients miss out, so we have introduced this policy to allow us to offer the time slot to another patient in need of care.
Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
Seaside Smile Clinic accepts the Canadian Dental Care Plan. If you or your family may qualify, we encourage you to check your eligibility before your visit.
